Short version
WitSpark has no accounts and asks for no personal information. It shows no advertising and does no analytics or tracking at the moment. WitSpark does not set cookies.
What is stored on your device
WitSpark saves a small amount of data in your browser. It stays on your device and is not sent to WitSpark or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
- Your sound setting (on or off), so the speaker button remembers your choice.
- Your timer setting (on or off), so the Timer switch on the start screen remembers your choice.
- Today's Daily Challenge questions, so replaying it on the same device gives the same ten. Older days are removed.
- Whether you have seen the title screen in this browser session, so it plays once and is not shown again until you close the tab.
What leaves your device
- Questions. When you start a round, your browser asks the Open Trivia Database for questions. The request says how many questions, which category and which difficulty. Like any website you visit, that service can see your IP address and browser details.
- Fonts. The pixel lettering is loaded from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
- Hosting. The service that hosts WitSpark may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address and the pages you request.
Those services have their own privacy policies. Your answers and your score stay in your browser; WitSpark does not collect them.
Sharing your result
The Share button either opens your device's own share sheet or copies a line of text (your score, category and difficulty) to your clipboard. Nothing is sent to WitSpark.
If this changes
If WitSpark later adds analytics, advertising or affiliate links, this page will be updated first and, where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent.
