About WitSpark

What it is

WitSpark is a free trivia quiz. Pick a category and a difficulty, answer ten multiple-choice questions, and see how you did. WitSpark is still a prototype.

How it works

One question is shown at a time, and each has 25 seconds unless you switch the timer off on the start screen. Choose an answer, press Check answer, and WitSpark tells you straight away whether you were right and shows the correct answer. At the end you get your score, your average time, and a list of the questions you missed.

The Daily Challenge gives you ten mixed questions. They are saved on your device for the day, so replaying it on the same device gives the same ten, and a new set arrives the next day by your device's clock. It is not the same set for every player.

Where the questions come from

Every question comes from the Open Trivia Database, a community-written collection, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA 4.0). Questions are chosen at random. They are not ranked, sponsored or promoted.

Because volunteers write the questions, some answers may be wrong or out of date. WitSpark is made for fun and learning, not as an authoritative reference.

How WitSpark is funded

WitSpark currently shows no advertising and has no affiliate links. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly here and on the quiz pages, and it will never affect which questions you get or how you are scored.
